![]() Since 1997, Nebraska Life Magazine has worked hard to promote Nebraska events and attractions. The Friend of Tourism Award went to Nebraska Life Magazine. They’ve been an active part of the Northeast Nebraska Travel Group and of Knox County Tourism, continually helping to promote their area. Not only were members of this family busy with their own tourism operation, but they have always taken part in their community’s tourism. Tourists were able to ride in covered wagons to hand feed and pet the Elk and Bison. From 1995 to 2018, the Kreycik Family offered a unique experience in Nebraska giving Elk and Buffalo tours on their ranch near Niobrara. The 2019 Henry Fonda Award, the state’s highest tourism award representing leadership, vision and dedication to the tourism industry, went to The Kreycik Family. NebraskaLand Days makes an economic impact of over $21 million. Officials say nearly 98,000 people participated in the 2019 celebration in one way or another. the eleven day celebration hosts the largest outdoor rodeo in the state and draws national acts to perform it its tow-night concert series. State tourism officials say North Platte transformed the event into a festival that brings in visitors from over 40 states and multiple foreign countries each year. A Bring-Your-Own Screen Print Event will kick-off the festival on October 14th. A Hayrack Tour will be available on weekends to view the creativity of the scarecrow entries. Registration is $25 and includes 2 tickets to the Hayrack Tour. Scarecrow Festival: October 14 - 30īuild your own scarecrow in the Kimmel Scarecrow Field. We have various types of pumpkins and we look forward to enjoying the harvest. They are ready just in time to be carved for Halloween. Our last fruit to be harvested in our U-Pick barn this season is pumpkins. Sunday, September 17th, 8 am-5 pm Pumpkin Harvest Festival: October It's time to celebrate the harvest season with educational family fun, U-Pick apples, hayrack rides, delicious homemade Apple Cider Doughnuts, caramel apples, homemade apple pie, and other delicious treats! Join us for family fun with delicious treats, adventures on the Pollinator Playground, hayrack rides into the Orchard for U-Pick, and a vendor fair!
